Why You Need To Be “Low-Carb”

...and I'm not talking in terms of food. Working in the fashion industry, I see firsthand how much waste it produces. It is the third highest polluting industry after oil and agriculture, a shocking fact that many are unaware of. While "fast fashion" is an easy solution to being able to stay on trend and on budget, it produces a horrendous carbon footprint and is devastating to our environment. I try my best to shop things that are "Made in the U.S.A.", vintage or secondhand (all of which either produce a smaller carbon footprint or none at all), but on Earth Day especially, I am reminded of how much more I can do. Wanting to be fashionable is not an excuse. There are easy steps we can...

The Practical Staple You Need Right Now

Utility jackets are nothing new to fashion, but if you don't already have one, you should. While their purpose serves more fashion than function, it is the perfect piece to carry around when the weather fluctuates between 55 and 75 degrees on any given day. Street style stars and designers have been rocking this look since the military-trend renaissance of the early 2000's, but I was never entirely sold. A designer label couldn't distract me from what looked like a frumpy jacket that would most likely go over an even frumpier outfit. With the incorporation of softer fibers like modal and cupro, these jackets look less harsh and more like a utility sweater...

How to Pull off Athleisure While Staying On Trend

Labels including Alexander Wang, and Balenciaga are making mini bags the “IT” accessory right now. An easy way to update the sporty look, is by grabbing a cute mini bag, and your most comfortable slip ons. I’ve been looking for the perfect white bag, and stumbling on this mini Moschino at the Manhattan Vintage Show felt like fashion fate. While I don’t believe this exact style is available (it comes with a cross body strap), I’ve linked below to different styles. 1. Chloe Marcie Mini Saddle Bag 2. Prada Saffiano Mini Crossbody Clutch 3. Alexander Wang Mini Skeletal Emile 4. Balenciaga Neo Classic Mini Chain Bag 5. Coach Liv Crossbody...

6 Python Shoes for Any Occasion

We heard it first in The Devil Wears Prada when Doug said “Pythons hot right now!”, and it totally is*. Python is probably my favorite “animal” print, but is definitely my favorite reptile texture at the moment. Traditionally featured in combinations of black and ivory or brown and gold, the print is extremely easy to treat as a “neutral” when pairing with outfits. I’ve gathered six styles for different price points and occasions to fulfill this necessary spring trend. 1. Stuart Weitzman Queen Python-Print Pump 2. Loeffler Randal Luz Tassel Snakeskin Sandal 3. Guiseppe Zanotti Silver-Tipped Python-Embossed Leather Bootie 4. Stuart Weitzman Catalan Snake-Print Espadrille 5.Tory Burch Python Effect Flat Sandals 6. Wild Diva Lounge Studded Python Pointed Toe Flats *Twinseperable would like to state that while these shoes are...

How To Pull Off Moto Like Rebecca Minkoff

I have never been one to mind people emulating my style, nor have I been afraid to take cues from others. I fell in love with a look worn by Rebecca Minkoff that looked so effortless, tough, and chic all at the same time. When I realized that I had the necessary pieces to re-create the outfit with my own flair (including my favorite RM bag), this shoot happened. Shirtdress- H&M / Jacket (Old)- Miss Sixty (Similar here) / Necklace- Forever 21 / Bag (Sold out)- Rebecca Minkoff (another option here) / Pumps (Old)- BCBGMaxazria (similar version here)...

Chloe-chella

While I am unable to attend Coachella this year, I can still appreciate the abundance of festival style that is dancing across my instagram feed…most likely in fringe and a flower crown. Chloe, in all of its bohemian glory, was the uniform of choice for models, celebrities, bloggers and the like. Dreaming of the day I can frolic through the crowds wearing such threads, I created a Chloe-inspired look to hold me over til then. See below for the look and how to achieve.     Top- H&M (also available in beige) / Skirt- BCBGMaxAzria / Shoes- Shoptiques (also available in brown)...

Midi-Town Manhattan

After snagging this skirt at a sample sale last week, I couldn’t wait to style it up and frolic around mid-town! It went perfectly with these PVC/suede pumps, which are great for the transition into spring. The ones pictured here were a phenomenal find last year from BCBGeneration. Although they, like most of the pieces in this look, are older and thus no longer for sale, I have linked similar styles below!   Chambray (Old)- Old Navy (Similar here) / Sunglasses- Wildfox / Clutch- Rebecca Minkoff / Skirt (Sample)- Calvin Klein (Similar here) / Heels (Old)- BCBGeneration (Similar here)...
