Friday Feels

It’s taken me a while to truly process and understand this, but I’m ready for some life changes! I am now going to be very intentional about the food I eat and the effects it has on my body. I am on a mission: eat to live and not live to eat.  I feel I have been neglecting my body for years and cannot wait to share my journey with you! Get ready for some yummy recipes and any tips I gather along the way. My body has been trying to tell me things for years and I’m finally ready to listen. Xx G...

Tunesday for Manchester

This past weekend was filled with music all over the world. Team Twinseperable was lucky enough to score lobbyist passes to Gov Ball, resulting in a lovely few days of Don Julio cocktails and musical sets to satisfy even the most discerning palates (thanks Jenn Kaytin). However, sometimes music is about something bigger. This past Sunday was also the Manchester Benefit concert. After the incredible time we had on Randall’s Island, we made sure to watch the Benefit in its entirety once we returned to our HQ, and are dedicating this Tunesday to Manchester. The attack at Ariana Grande’s concert on May 22 was extremely well planned, targeting a select group of people and sending a loud message. It was no coincidence that...

Thursday Thoughts: Calvin Klein x Moonlight

In an age when diversity is increasingly under attack, cultural spheres such as film and fashion are increasingly highlighting and celebrating it. This is particularly true in the new Calvin Klein campaign Revelation which is, in one word, superb. According the to label's official campaign release (which EVERYONE should read in full), "celebrating their revelatory performances in the film of the year, we take a closer look at Mahershala Ali, Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders and Trevante Rhodes. They tell us what it means to be a man of the moment." Moonlight was a breathtakingly touching film about a "taboo" topic, on multiple levels and across multiple life stages. These actors each brought something unique to their roles, ultimately and thankfully resulting in something never seen before...

Thursday Thoughts

Illustrated poster created by Hanna Barczyk for the Women's March @hannabarczyk #purplerainillustrators T his past Saturday, January 21, 2017, will forever be remembered as a historic example of democracy-in-action. It was a stark contrast to just one day prior which, in the most basic terms, was a sad celebration of a democracy in shambles. Initially a grassroots effort, birthed (pun intended) in an effort to combat the Trump administration’s bigoted practices and ethical offenses, the Women’s March on Washington evolved into so much more. As Bernie Sanders put it, "President Trump, you made a big mistake. By trying to divide us up by race, religion, gender and nationality you actually brought us closer.”  It is no longer just about protecting individual...

Thursday Thoughts

This past Tuesday, January 10, the incomparable President Obama gave his farewell address. His final national speech to the country, and the world, as the 44th President of our United States. With tears rolling down my face, I experienced a mélange of emotions as I tried to process what this great man was saying, and how his leaving office would impact the course of my life and the lives of so many others.   I was sad. I was angry. I was scared. I still feel all of those things. But for perhaps one of the first times since the election results… I was hopeful again. I reconnected with the original creed put forth  by the Obama-Biden campaign more than 8...

Monday Mantra

Today's Monday Mantra is a result of our President Elect's consistent desire to limit the media and filter free speech. Despite the virility of his most recent twitter tantrum about a perfectly eloquent and peaceful call to action for the Vice President Elect, this is not new behavior. Rather, it is further evidence of a very troubling pattern of conduct, one that the future leader of our nation should not be displaying...

Tunesday for Leonard Cohen

A few months ago I tried writing a Tunesday but became so overwhelmed by emotion, I was never able to complete it. I actually think it was a combination of sadness, and the fear that some wouldn’t understand why the story of two people who I’d never met could mean so much to me. On July 28 of this year, a woman named Marianne Ihlen passed away, and as soon as I saw that headline, I felt a tinge in my heart. A person can have many loves; some relationships work out and some do not, but the love itself, can still, absolutely, last forever. For Leonard Cohen, Marianne Ihlen was one of those great loves. Brought together by a time and...
