Having been to music festivals before, I was concerned about access to gluten free food. I wanted something that I knew was safe but that would still enable me to have the full festival food experience. Gov Ball had a surprising number of gluten free options, which other festivals should take note of. The one I felt most comfortable with was Taquitoria because the restaurant itself only uses ingredients that are wheat, soy, gluten, nut, and shellfish free! Offering two different varieties of fresh taquitos, there was no way to go wrong. I would be lying if I said I didn’t have my lunch and dinner there for the duration of the three-day shinding. I alternated between the black bean and pork taquitos; both topped off with some fresh lettuce, guac sauce and Cotija cheese. Located on the Lower East side, the trek for me to get there now that the festival has ended, is still no deterrent for these delicious, fried, finger food snacks. Thanks Taquitoria for making my already wonderful Gov Ball experience even more enjoyable!
