I recently saw an image on the internet and it inspired this week’s Monday mantra. This has nothing to do with Kylie Jenner, because to each their own, but I feel remiss having not dedicated a post to Malala last month for her birthday.
Malala Yousafzai spent her 18th birthday in Lebanon, celebrating the opening of a school for Syrian refugees. This is a school she spearheaded and which was only made possible by her foundation, The Malala Fund. After being attacked by the Taliban for promoting women’s right to education, her voice became stronger and continues to resonate louder than ever. A driving force behind education for all, this is a quote from her memoir: “I don’t want revenge on the Taliban, I want education for sons and daughters of the Taliban.”
I believe today’s mantra applies across governments and borders around the world. Happy belated birthday, Malala, and thank you for inspiring greatness in us all.
