Velvet on Velvet

Vintage_Velvet_1
Sunnies / Blouse (also similar here) / Blazer (also here) / Pants / Bag We found these amazing vintage pants when we were rummaging through our mom's closet and they fit so well with this (also vintage, and also velvet) Escada blazer (previously featured here). Velvet was made for this season and the metallic printing matched our new Feed bag perfectly. Part of the Blair Eadie X Feed Collaboration, each purchase provides 50 meals to New York families in need !! Only the bag is still available but similar versions of other pieces are linked above ☝️ .    ...

Pastel Pointelle

PASTEL_POINTELLE_3
Sunnies / Top / Watch / Bag (old)- Similar here / Nails / Jeans (old)- Similar here / Shoes (on sale) Still very happy about the quantity of pastel on the runways this fashion month. Especially for someone who only dips their pinky toe in when it comes to color, pastels are an easy way to switch up my repertoire (which mainly consists of denim and different shades of black and grey). The fact that these tones are continuing throughout Spring is V exciting! This top was a random purchase during a quick run into HM with a friend. I have severely limited my fast fashion purchases, but slipped up when I saw the feminine pointelle detail mixed...

Spring Layers

We've lived in Hell's Kitchen for about two years now and are always pleasantly surprised when we stumble on a new gem. Without a route in mind, we set out to photograph this look, and walked right by (and eventually in) a gorgeous community garden. It was incredibly peaceful and reminded us of our mom's garden back home. We can't wait for the weather to warm up for good, and for the buds to bloom so we can spend more time in this escape from the concrete jungle. Sunnies- Karen Walker / Bag- Rebecca Minkoff / Dress (sample sale)- Reformation (Similar here) / Vest (Old)- Loft (Love this one here) / Boots- Stuart Weitzman  ...

New Frayvorite Jeans

I did it. I made my dream jeans without spending a dime. Fortunately I had the perfect pair to begin with, but even if you have to thrift a great, inexpensive pair, this is the easiest update and all you need are a pair of scissors. Read the DIY post here, and note that even though the video suggests using a needle and thread for a few tacks, I didn't reinforce the seams and they're holding up totally fine. Trench- Calvin Klein / Shirt (Old)- Zara (similar here) / Jeans- DIY / Shoes- Sol Sana...

Make sure to read our Q+A with Lisette Ffolkes, founder and creative force behind Jam + Rico. Earrings- Jam + Rico / Dress (sold out)- Aritzia (Similar here) / Shoes (Old)- Tibi (Similar here)  ...

L’amour L’asso

On the corner of Mott st. and Kenmare st. in Nolita lies this hip jewel. In a stunning display of cosmic synergy, this was the only brunch spot that would take a last minute (aka day before) reservation for nine, that just so happened to serve almost everything on the brunch menu gluten free! The $20 brunch comes with bottomless mimosas (or bloody marys), and bottomless they were; for an hour, that is. The most popular item off the menu was the breakfast pizza, which was topped with prosciutto, scallions, and two eggs over easy. In an interesting role reversal, I opted for the more traditional option- Blueblerry pancakes with fresh blueberry syrup. Despite the usual denseness of gluten-free pancakes, these were the perfect combination of...

Monday Mantra: Love is Love

Our hearts are full from the overwhelming love and acceptance we experienced this weekend. While this was not our first NYC Pride Fest, it was the first we got to spend with our older brother, for whom we are full of pride.    ...

Gluten Free Birthday Girl

(The above photo is from doscaminos.com) It’s not an easy feat to find a restaurant that is able to fit a party of 28 on a Friday night and accommodate a celiac birthday girl. Dos Caminos delivered. Ari, Jake (the third TRIPLET) and I have had our share of memorable birthday parties, but this was something else. Serving their consistently delicious Mexican food, the wonderful team at Dos Caminos (on Third avenue) made sure I felt special while celebrating! Prior to the big night out, I had spoken to management several times about the large party as well as my extreme sensitivity to cross contamination. As soon as I got downstairs to the larger seating area, I informed my waitress of my...
