Rainy Day Grey

saks_collection_beanie_Star_8
Hat / Sunnies / Sweater / Jacket / Skirt / Bag / Boots (old)- Similar here Grey and black are my typical go-tos, especially on a gloomy day! Mixing the slouchy grey sweater, oversized jacket and combat boots with a more structured piece like a pleated pleather skirt was fun and a really easy way to make a lazy look chic(ish). Fun fact about this beanie- I produced it for Saks Fifth Avenue (at work), and I'm suuuuuuper proud to wear it :) . The grey was my favorite (obvs), but it comes in a black and hot pink version too!...

Pins on Pins // Denim on Denim

Sunnies / Shirt / Jacket / Scrunchie / Bag / Jeans- Similar here / Shoes (old from Schutz)- Similar here / Pins We went super 90's with this denim on denim/pin/scrunchie situation! It was also important  for us to wear this "My Body My Business" shirt with our women's rights pins (some from our mom, some we collected ourselves). We also styled it with our Blair Eadie X Feed "Blair" bag because #Womanboss! Check out a different way to style the bag here. The pins are for the most part, souvenirs from various marches and protests, and thus unavailable. However, Wildfang has great feminist adornments!!...

Velvet on Velvet

Vintage_Velvet_1
Sunnies / Blouse (also similar here) / Blazer (also here) / Pants / Bag We found these amazing vintage pants when we were rummaging through our mom's closet and they fit so well with this (also vintage, and also velvet) Escada blazer (previously featured here). Velvet was made for this season and the metallic printing matched our new Feed bag perfectly. Part of the Blair Eadie X Feed Collaboration, each purchase provides 50 meals to New York families in need !! Only the bag is still available but similar versions of other pieces are linked above ☝️ .    ...

Very Vintage

VINTAGE_SUEDE_SKIRT_4
This is one of my favorite looks of all time because it happens to be more than half vintage! Like we said in our last post, we're trying to extend the life cycles of our garments and invest in pieces that are longer lasting. The skirt was an AMAZING find from Wallflower Boutique during our recent-ish trip to San Francisco.  If you're looking for a great vintage experience, definitely make The Mission district a priority. Also, the bucket bag and three-tone (brass, silver, gold) belt belonged to our Momager! I found similar pre-owned versions of this suede midi here and here, and similar boots here! After brunching in Brooklyn (in this "recycled" getup), Gaby and I stumbled into the Package Free Shop and...

Fall Florals

DARK-PRINT-SKIRT-1
Jacket / Sunnies / Shirt / Skirt (Old Reformation)- Similar here and here / Sneaks   There are so many things about this look that I love. First of all, the skirt and tee are both Reformation, which we try and buy whenever we have spare shekels. As our favorite sustainable and socially conscious brand, we do our best to splurge on a few new special pieces whenever possible. Fortunately, their tees are actually incredibly affordable and this skirt was on sale! Second, the skirt print is perfect to dress up or down and we've done both! Following the theme of sustainability, we've been on the hunt for a perfect oversized (pre-loved) denim jacket since I borrowed one from...

Stripes on Stripes

SAN_FRANCISCO_STRIPES_1
Sunnies / Shoes / Bag (Vintage Coach)- Options here and here Stripes are fairly innocuous when it comes to prints and patterns and because of this, can be treated like a neutral. They can be mixed with florals, dots, solids, etc. to add more dimension to a look. After finding this easy breezy shirt dress, I decided to mix it with an old sweater (aka an over sized long sleeve tunic)  in a different stripe for an interesting contrast. For this look, I went with black/white and black/ivory on top (similar here), but a colored stripe with white can work too! The dress is a recent purchase from Zara, though it is not available online. I found great striped options from Burberry, Fred Perry...

A Classic Look

Reformation_J_Brand_Karen_Walker_5
Theres something refreshing in wearing a very simple look. It takes less effort and always looks classic and sophisticated without trying too hard. I had originally layered this top over a white tee, and played around with a maxi skirt among other combos, but this basic pairing ended up feeling right. This bag is an amazing hand me down from our Momager, but any mini top handle bag would do the trick (see one of my favorites below). Pairing crop flare jeans with a low block heel is an easy way to elevate your denim and this specific pair is on sale and super affordable right now.   Reformation / J Brand (Similar here and here) / Michael...

Live-in Linen

Live_in_linen
A version of this linen outfit was my lazy/casual 4th of July cover up, and never did I think I'd make a look out of it. I've had these pieces forever and my mother and aunt had them forever before me, but they've always seemed more lounge-y and "off-duty" to me. I was reminded just how perfect they are for summer when it exceeded 90 degrees and there was NOTHING else I wanted to wear. Unfortunately, the hat and linens are hand me downs, but I scoured the internet for similar pieces. See below! Hat (Vintage)- Similar here / Sunglasses- Crap Eyewear / Top (Vintage)- Similar here, here and here / Pants (Old)- Similar here / Shoes- Marc Fisher...

Crop Tops and Cashmere

Sometimes when I plan a look, I don't know if it will translate well into photos. Ex-  crop tops and cashmere. At first it seemed a little oxymoronic. Some things look great in person but dull in pics, or less exciting in person, but great in pics. One of my favorite scenes in Clueless is where Cher takes polaroids of each outfit because she doesn't trust mirrors, a feeling I can oftentimes relate to. Especially if I'm trying something new like pairing unlikely pieces, its always exciting when I'm happy with the resulting snaps.  Since is is time to start transitioning into fall, but the temps still say summer, it can be difficult to know what to wear. Crop tops and cashmere hardly seem...
