Stilettos are classic, block heels are classic, and neither are particularly new silhouettes in the shoe world. However, when I noticed that Schutz recently released a block-heeled version of their sought after “Juliana” sandal, it prompted me to look into some other brands that offer heel variations on popular styles. Disclaimer- I love trying on stilettos, and even buying stilettos, but I HATE wearing them and find them incredibly uncomfortable. Hence my excitement when I noticed all of these equally cute, but much more comfortable, iterations of styles I adore.
The Stuart Weitzman “Nudist” is a staple among celebs and influencers. It’s timeless simplicity makes it the perfect go-to for ripped jeans or an evening gown. Their “Nearlynude” features the same thin cross-toe and ankle straps, but with a lower, thicker heel. Find a less expensive version here and here.
This past Spring, Aquazzura introduced the “Wild Thing” and it popped up so regularly on my Instagram feed I found myself wondering if I was looking at the same pics over and over, which incidentally I was not. Sure enough, they also offer a much lower, and dare I say- more supportive, version. While the price of both styles is just shy of $800, you can find a less expensive version of the low heel here, and an inexpensive completely flat version here.
