The Smartest Solution to an Expensive Bodysuit

Lately I have been a huge sucker for statement bodysuits but have a hard time splurging on them since they are not that practical (most definitely not work appropriate), and usually quite expensive. Using a plunging swimsuit as a bodysuit gives you much more “bang for your buck”. You can wear it under shorts, skirts, jeans, etc. for a specific occasion, but also wear it to the pool or beach where it is 100% appropriate.

For days 1 and 2 of Governors Ball (a three day music festival on Randalls Island) I decided to go more for function than fashion since the weather conditions were sub-par. On the third day, not a cloud was in sight and the grounds no longer resembled swampland. Hoping to get a decent tan, but also to look festival-y, I decided to masquerade a plunging halter bathingsuit as a bodusuit and wear it with high-waisted jean shorts and combat boots. The look was a total hit and perfect for the festival.

Since the butterfly perfection that is this Wildfox suit is long gone, I rounded up some similar bodies in cool prints that achieve the same look.

2. Topshop ‘Miami’ Halter Swimsuit

3. Shan Swimwear Matilde High Neck Swimsuit

Which one would you wear?
