Tunesday with Bleachers

This Tunesday is about Jack Antonoff.

He is an artist.

Antonoff has an all-encompassing gift, and he simply cannot stop creating…whether it’s being a member of the band Fun., co-writing with some of our favorite artists, starting a new band, or getting involved in social activism. He is constantly bringing innovative energy into the world.

And boy are we glad.

In college, any song that Fun. released became the soundtrack to my life at the moment. I have distinct memories of what I was doing and what was going on in my life at the time that Some Nights, Carry On, and We Are Young, were respectively released.

Full disclosure: I hadn’t listened to Bleachers until I heard I Wanna Get Better on MTV’s revolutionary show, Sweet Vicious (we’re still waiting for season two…), a few months ago, even though it was released in 2014.

About a month ago, Antonoff released the first single, Don’t Take the Money, off of Bleachers’ upcoming album, Gone Now, to be released in June. Featuring Lorde, whose latest hit, Green Light, Antonoff co-wrote, Don’t Take the Money is a sign of great things to come.

Deeply rooted in the 80’s with his usual electro-pop vibes, the song catchy and the chorus is sure to stick with you well after you’ve stopped listening.

“The album sounds exactly what it was,” he tweeted. “Someone alone in a room trying to make sense of loss and how to move on.” He also added that the album features “an amazing cast of friends and idols who pop in for moments or send me things.” -Rolling Stone Magazine

The second single, Hate That You Know Me, which was released last week, is just as addictive.

What do you think?
